Cooking Crisis: Celebrity Chef Paula Deen Has Diabetes

We are living through a time now where the definition of “celebrity” has been dramatically changed with the onset of all the celebrity chefs…Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay, Iron’s Chef’s Mario Batali.. and Paula Deen y’all. News broke today that Paula was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes 3 years ago but hasn’t come out and made [...]

Happy Day!! Today is actress/comedienne/goddess Betty White‘s 90th birthday and I want to take a bit of time to send out as much Birthday Lurve as I can muster for the dear Golden Girl. Last night, NBC aired a television special called Betty White’s 90th Birthday: A Tribute to America’s Golden Girl ahead of her big birthday today. David and I watched the special and, for the most part, we loved it very much. Betty is such special lady that it’s difficult not to love her … therefore, I think the occasion of her 9 decades long life is worth a little tribute.

As I said, David and I mostly enjoyed last night’s birthday special for Betty. While there were some comedic bits that just did not work at all (Zachary Levi, I’m talking to YOU), the special tributes to Betty White were charming and filled with love. It was really fantastic seeing all those venerated actors on stage together … Carol Burnett, Mary Tyler Moore, Vicki Lawrence, etc. It just really made me realize that we are near the end of a golden age of television that will never exist again. Betty White represents so much that is good about TV. She really is a living legend. I have no doubt that we will be celebrating Betty‘s birthday for many, many years to come … but today, on her 90th, let’s collectively muster up all the Birthday Lurve we can and send it her way. Happy Birthday, Betty. You are loved more than you could know. Here’s to many more Happy Birthdays to come! xo
