Hardcore in 2009 is a manufactured, cultivated, commercial artifice, but it's an artifice that still feels real and has meaning to those inside it.

These "collective" musicians may make nice enough music accordingly, but none of them are going to change or chart the future of music as long as they're trying to maintain a fair one-eleventh creative stake in the collective of their choosing.

Last night, the couple took their lurvefest show courtside at the Staples Center where they rooted for the LA Lakers in between make-out sessions.

Geeze Louise, get a room you two! It is quite clear that these two are really LOVING the honeymoon phase of their new relationship. While I really miss seeing Drew with Justin Long, I am happy to see her lookin’ so enamored of a new dude. With superheroes very much in style, and not only superheroes but revival movies and television programs of old movies and television programs all the rage, it only stood to follow that, given time, each and every old favorite TV program would be reworked. It surprised many to hear that 'The Munsters' will be making their way back onto television with a new and updated version, and it will certainly surprise, and perhaps please, many that now 'Wonder Woman' will too! While there are many directions the show could be taken in, one this is for sure, the new program is likely to be a far cry from the famous 1970s series of the same name. You Can Do It! (Okay, Maybe Not)

The world's worst band is playing at a neighborhood fest/farmer's market one block from my apartment, but they're so loud that it sounds like they're playing right outside my window. I just ventured out so I could see what they look like and take a picture to show you, but as it turns out they're a group of down-on-their-luck teenagers playing plastic buckets and ginormous metal bazookas (which looks like trombones but aren't), so I felt bad and didn't do so.

But you know, this leads me to something. You want to encourage these kids and be like, "Keep playing your music! You can do it!" But at what point do you tell them they're awful? I mean, the neighborhood is suffering because of the noise. I have my TV turned up all the way to drown them out.

It reminds me of when I played the flute in the fourth grade school band. I thought we were amazing but then we had a concert. Afterward, when I asked my step-dad how we were, he laughed and said, "You sounded like the Charlie Brown school band." I was eight or nine years old at the time, but I was old enough to be told I sucked. I remember not caring. These kids are teenagers... I think it's time someone encouraged them to find another career path because this jam-band thing isn't working out.

(Btw, I couldn't find a clip of the Peanuts gang school band to show you, but you know what I'm talking about, right? They were horrible.)

Great news Battlestar Galactica fans, Deadline is reporting that SyFy has ordered a 2-hour pilot for a proposed new prequel spin-off series of the franchise. As you may know, Caprica (the current BG prequel spin-off) is still in its first season (with the hope of a season 2 pickup soon) so the folks at SyFy think it’s a great time to introduce another spin-off series that is set in the 10th year of the Cylon War and is focused around the young Academy graduate William Adama (who is just a kid in Caprica and is the seasoned admiral in Battlestar Galactica). Here are the deets about this new spin-off series:

SyFy is going back to the Battlestar Galactica well. After launching prequel Caprica, which is now airing the second part of its first season while awaiting word on a second-season pickup, the cable network has greenlighted a two-hour pilot for Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome or BGBC how it will probably be known in the Battlestar fan universe. The pilot, about the young years of Ensign William Adama, hails from Battlestar Galactica executive producer David Eick and Universal Cable Prods. and will involve CGI and virtual technology.

I am a huge fan of Battlestar Galactica and was very sad when the series had to end … but, to be honest, I never really got into Caprica. I watched the series pilot movie but it just didn’t win me over and I decided not to watch the series. That being said, I’m very interested in this new proposed spin-off that focuses on the young William Adama. JJ Abrams found great success with his prequel version of Star Trek which focuses on the young crew of the USS Enterprise … I really think that SyFy can enjoy that kind of success with Battlestar. Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome takes place in the 10th year of the first Cylon war. As the battle between humans and their creation, a sentient robotic race, rages across the 12 colonial worlds, a brash rookie viper pilot enters the fray. Ensign William Adama, barely in his 20’s and a recent Academy graduate, finds himself assigned to the newest battlestar in the Colonial fleet… the Galactica. The talented but hot-headed risk-taker soon finds himself leading a dangerous top secret mission that, if successful, will turn the tide of the decade long war in favor of the desperate fleet. “The ‘Galactica’ universe as re-imagined by Ron Moore and David Eick is rich with possibilities and backstory,” said SyFy’s Mark Stern. “We jumped at the chance to revisit the William Adama character and explore this exciting chapter in the BSG narrative which falls between the events of the original series and the prequel, ‘Caprica,’ currently airing on Syfy.” “While maintaining the themes of politics, social propaganda, and the timeless question: what does it mean to be human? – ‘Blood & Chrome’ will also return us to the authentic, relentless depiction of combat and the agony and ecstasy of human-Cylon war, which was the hallmark of ‘Battlestar Galactica’s’ early seasons,” said Eick. In the end, it all comes down to the writing … Battlestar was such a great show because the writing was so fantastic. I have been hearing great things about Caprica (particularly the fantastic writing) so I may have to give that show a second chance. I am really excited about Blood & Chrome tho … I’m in desperate need of a new sci-fi series to fall in love with. Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome sounds perfect. Any Battlestar fans out there … does this sound like a great idea for a new series to you?

Finally, finally, we're in the home stretch until the release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1." The penultimate film in the "Harry Potter" series will hit theaters one month from today, and to psyche us up Warner Bros. has gifted us with yet another "Potter" TV spot.

There's nothing in this minute-long teaser that we haven't seen before, but it's still enough to get us excited. After all, it contains the majority of the elements of the film we're most looking forward to. Bill Nighy as Rufus Scrimgeour? Check. Voldemort/Harry dichotomy? Check. Locket Horcrux being destroyed? Check.

Despite how much Warner Bros. has been showing in the trailers, we still can't wait to see the film as a whole. What the trailers and spots have been missing are actual interactions between the characters. Yes, we've seen plenty of action, drama and special effects, but the core of "Harry Potter" is the relationships between the characters we've come to know and love. Other than that awesome showdown between Ron and Harry and a couple George and Fred moments in the teasers, we haven't had a chance to see the way Voldemort's reign has personally affected the magical world, and that's why we're still counting down the days until "Part 1"'s release.
