Hardcore culture today is defined by its core contradictions: profiteering providers serving idealistic consumers, young people rebelling against one set of rules by embracing another set of rules, individuality being sought through group experience, and pleasure being pursued through pain. Hardcore is a petrified forest that thrills successive generations of young men as they enter it, only to have itself debased, devalued and dismissed when those same young men pass through its far side, some years later. It is artistically impotent, but highly lucrative to those graduate providers who promulgate it, frozen in time, but timeless. Hardcore in 2009 is a manufactured, cultivated, commercial artifice, but it's an artifice that still feels real and has meaning to those inside it.

These "collective" musicians may make nice enough music accordingly, but none of them are going to change or chart the future of music as long as they're trying to maintain a fair one-eleventh creative stake in the collective of their choosing.

Drew Barrymore and her new boyfriend Will Kopelman have been flaunting their romance all over SoCal in the past week or so. From restaurants, to stores, to sporting events, Drew and Will have been seen makin’ out all over town. Last night, the couple took their lurvefest show courtside at the Staples Center where they rooted for the LA Lakers in between make-out sessions.

Geeze Louise, get a room you two! It is quite clear that these two are really LOVING the honeymoon phase of their new relationship. While I really miss seeing Drew with Justin Long, I am happy to see her lookin’ so enamored of a new dude. Let’s hope this new love is one that can stand the test of time and won’t burn out sooner rather than later.

With superheroes very much in style, and not only superheroes but revival movies and television programs of old movies and television programs all the rage, it only stood to follow that, given time, each and every old favorite TV program would be reworked. It surprised many to hear that 'The Munsters' will be making their way back onto television with a new and updated version, and it will certainly surprise, and perhaps please, many that now 'Wonder Woman' will too! While there are many directions the show could be taken in, one this is for sure, the new program is likely to be a far cry from the famous 1970s series of the same name. For now, however, there is only speculation as to who, what and when 'Wonder Woman' will be back for good- or at least a few episodes.
